About Hans Overturf

    Hans Overturf is enthusiastic, passionate, ambitious, considerate, reliable, and open for new thinking. Through Hans’ varied life experiences, he has maintained his lifelong passion for helping people develop their wealth. As a young boy growing up in Switzerland, Hans was destined to become a successful financial consultant. At an early age, he exhibited great passion for the financial world, reading the business section of the local news paper as early as 12 years old. His aspiration has always been to create a cutting edge financial consultancy focused on helping people to grow their wealth in uncommon ways.

In 1989 Hans started an apprenticeship with the postal service in Zurich, Switzerland. As junior postmaster, Hans had his first exposure to the financial services industry through the Swiss Postbank. During his 2 years in the Swiss Armed Forces he rose to the rank of First Lieutenant, leading a platoon of 43 troops. In 1996 he and his wife Maria immigrated to the United States.

Hans Overturf attended Humboldt State University and graduated in 1999 with a degree in Economics, Summa Cum Laude. Soon after graduating Hans was hired by Morgan Stanley in Eureka, CA, as a financial advisor. Considered one of their most promising trainees, Hans received the Morgan Stanley National Director’s Award and graduated second in his class of 32 from the Morgan Stanley training program (original enrollment was over 200). In July of 2003 Hans established his own financial services practice in Arcata, CA through Raymond James Financial Services, which he successfully operated for 5 years. Opening Overturf Financial Services, Inc. has offered Hans and his partners flexibility, diversity, and more options for his clients. Overturf Financial Services, Inc. has branches operating in Arcata, California and Mill Valley, California, with a satellite office in San Francisco, California. A third branch is being established in Switzerland.

Hans Overturf holds the following licenses: Series 7 (stocks, bonds, mutual funds); Series 66 (California Securities); Series 9/10 General Securities Sales Supervisor (options and margin); Series 24 Rules and Regulation (branch manager); California Insurance License; and Real Estate Licenses in both California and Florida. Hans is committed to learning and continues his education in leadership, finance, and fitness. Following an intense post-graduate study program, he became a member of the elite entrepreneurial group WEALTH. This rigorous group of business executives from around the country meets weekly to build their agility in business and life situations with powerful thinking and action.

Hans Overturf is active in over a dozen professional and public service groups, among them the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, Arcata Rotary, and the Swiss-California Foundation. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, helicopter flying, running and reading about finance.
